Just how emasculated can we make our teachers? We can't hit, expel, or often even suspend students who repeatedly make teaching impossible?
If a student is a fucker, isn't it my duty to tell him he's a fucker?
To change complacency, something other than persistance is needed. Slow and steady may win the race, but not until the turtle's already been arrested and sentenced for armed robbery. The most dramatic changes are quick, decisive revolutions. These mutations (in behavior, society, whatever) are often caused by one particular, often intense, event. Be it a bloody coup, near death experience, or no-holds-barred confrontation, major change results.
